DCAS Report

DCAS will offer expert guidance and provide an impartial, signed report which will be posted out within 7 working days from receipt of the article, complaint forms and fee. The report will be unambiguous and based on information received and detailed examination.

This report is available for a fee of £65.00 which is fully inclusive of return postage, insurance etc.

Please note that this report does not qualify for use in the County Court under the small claims procedure.

The reports sole intention is to help the parties concerned find a resolution to their dispute with a view to avoiding litigation, which can be costly, time consuming and stressful. If you require a report for litigation purposes from the outset, however, then contact Textile Services Assoc. (02078 439490) who will provide you with details of testing houses where such a report can be obtained.

In order for DCAS to provide you with the best possible service will you please:-
  • 1. Post the article via the Royal Mail Special Delivery Service (please note that Couriers will not deliver to a PO Box) together with the completed forms we regret that we cannot accept wedding dresses, rugs/carpets or household textiles such as curtains, sofa covers, duvets etc.
  • 2. Ensure that both the complaint forms are completed (we can contact the cleaner/customer on your behalf if you prefer) and enclose photocopies of any relevant documents you have.
  • 3. Enclose a cheque (or postal order) made payable to DCAS, or for payment by BACS please contact us on 01423 560436 for details.

Terms & Conditions

  • 1. Payment must accompany the article, a report cannot be prepared until payment is made.
  • 2. If an article is received by DCAS and then the commission is cancelled, a £10.00 handling/postage fee will be deducted/required before the item can be returned.
  • 3.If any of the items specified above (wedding dresses etc.) are submitted then they will be returned unexamined and a handling/postage fee of up to £30 will be charged (fee dependant on the size/weight of the article).
  • 4. If the value of the article is not stated then it may be under insured for return (against loss/damage), in such circumstances DCAS will not entertain any subsequent claim for further compensation.
  • 5. In the event of a claim for loss/damage, proof of the market value of the item will be required (in line with Royal Mail terms). In the absense of such proof compensation may not be paid. Also, the maximum level of compensation is £2500.00, irrespective of market/stated value.

Use of the DCAS Fault Analysis Service constitutes acceptance of the above
